In honour of International Malbec Day, we’re celebrating with a wine that’s as expressive and flavourful as the land it comes from. The 2019 Narrative Malbec, grown in the warm southern vineyards of Osoyoos and crafted with low-intervention techniques in our concrete fermenters, is a true taste of BC wine country.

This rich, fruit-driven red is bursting with blueberry, black cherry, and black pepper, finished with earthy notes of aged cedar and leather. It’s vibrant, balanced, and made to pair beautifully with bold, flavourful dishes.

The wine was fermented and aged 11 months in concrete. It begins with the appealing perfumed aromas of this varietal, leading to flavours of blackberry, black currant and pepper. 92 POINTS – John Schreiner

The Perfect Pairing!

This perfect pairing courtesy of Miguel Curiel from La Chula Mexican Kitchen highlights the bold fruit of the 2019 Narrative Malbec without overpowering the more subtle tertiary characteristics of the wine. The fresh herbs in the chimichurri sauce play a beautiful foil to the fruit forward mid-palate of the Malbec, and the natural acidity of the wine brings the pairing into full balance as it cuts through the rich flavours of the aïoli and chorizo. Chorismashed Burger Patties

Ingredients:

  • 400gr Argentinian Chorizo
  • 600gr Ground Beef
  • 4 tbsps Asada Rub

Instructions:

Mix and form ten 100gr balls.

Roasted Red Pepper Aïoli

Ingredients:

  • 1 Roasted garlic head. (Just the cloves)
  • 1 cup Pre roasted and drained red peppers.
  • 1/2 Lemon juice
  • 2/3 cup Mayonnaise 
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt

Instructions:

Blend everything until smooth.

Chimichurri Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups chopped Italian Parsley 
  • 1/4 cup “Chimi” Rub
  • 1 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 3/4 cup red wine vinegar 
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

Instructions:

Mix and let it rest for at least 15 minutes.

Instructions for the Chorismashed Burgers:

On a hot cast iron pan add a couple tbsp of beef tallow, place a few red onion rings and a some Parmesan cheese shavings, place burger ball on top and smash it using parchment paper and a flat metal utensil. Remove parchment paper and let it cook until cheese and onions are crispy, flip and cook for another minute.

On a toasted brioche bun add red pepper aïoli on both sides, followed by fresh arugula on the bottom, a couple of smashed chorizo patties and top with fresh chimichurri sauce using La Chula “Chimi” Rub.
