This year’s Cornucopia festival includes two drink seminars focusing on BC’s renowned Okanagan Crush Pad (OCP). Guests at the events will learn about OCP’s unique winemaking practices and will taste some fabulous wines along the way.

Both events will be hosted by local wine educator DJ Kearney. She’ll share her enthusiasm and expertise on the following topics:

Concrete Beliefs: Wood-Free Wines – Saturday, November 12th,*Updated time 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

OCP has one of North America’s largest assemblages of concrete vessels. The concrete tank provides an alternative to the more widely-used wooden barrel, which can interfere with the full expression of grapes’ character. Guests at the seminar will taste a selection of 8 wines from OCP’s Haywire Collection that illustrate the exceptional purity of wines made in concrete.

When Less is More: Low-Intervention Winemaking at OCP – Saturday, November 19, *Updated time: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

OCP’s winemaking philosophy is simple: to provide a guiding hand when needed, but whenever possible to simply let nature take its course. Organic grapes grown on-site receive minimal handling and are fermented using natural yeasts. The resulting wines are a true expression of their unique place of origin. Seminar guests will taste 8 wines from OCP’s Free Form portfolio.
Tickets for the tastings may be purchased online.
