OCP turns the corner as it turns 10
As the team at Okanagan Crush Pad marks their 10th anniversary, they are turning the corner – literally and figuratively.
Scott Sueme, an abstract painter from Vancouver, returns to the winery August 24 – 29 to update the mural at the entrance to the winery, and add an additional mural on the 100 foot south facing winery wall to commemorate the winery turning the corner into its next decade of business.

Ten years ago Scott Sueme painted the graffiti on the front of Okanagan Crush Pad, and now, the public is invited to visit the winery and catch the artist in action as he modifies the front of the winery and paints the wall opposite the vines.
Winery owner Christine Coletta is a fan of street art, and when OCP was constructed, the building’s smooth concrete exterior struck her as the perfect canvas. “To honour turning the corner on our first 10 years at Okanagan Crush Pad and looking forward to our next exciting decade, I thought that there could be no better way to celebrate than by commissioning Scott to ‘vandalize’ the building again,” she comments.
“We invite the public to come by the winery to give Scott a warm welcome on his return engagement with us. This is a project that will change in real time, and it is fascinating to see the plans on paper for a large-scale installation come to life. It will be a lot of fun to see it progress,” says Coletta.
During this Instagrammable art install, visitors can reserve a table on the patio and enjoy a flight of wine, order wine by the glass, a signature OCP cocktail, or try a boozy freezie (non-alcoholic versions also available).

Celebrating a Decade of Growth
Open in Summerland since 2011, the last decade has been one of great growth and change for us at OCP. Christine Coletta and her husband Steve Lornie have grown the business to now include 380 acres of land, 100 of those planted to vines on three organic certified vineyard sites: Switchback Vineyard, Secrest Mountain Vineyard, and Garnet Valley Ranch. At their organic certified 30,000-case production winery, Okanagan Crush Pad produces four unique labels: Haywire, Narrative, Free Form and Bizou + Yukon.
The winery has been awarded and recognized for its innovation in winemaking, custom crush business model, sustainable initiatives, yeast and concrete trials, and transition to organic and regenerative farming.
